    @Tapir: I don't know how to explain it well... I mean something like this:

    It's a polygon with many faces. It's works just like water (using nicolas idea) but with one difference: the rope must always keep it's width and lenght.
    But it's probably not a good idea, and it's very hard to make... using rectangles is easier and you get the same result (I think).-----------------

    what about objects and/or links that can break ...
    under pressure or force?
    we could have levels where this could be used to
    limit the amount of weight you could put onto
    a platform or structure to safely cross ...
    or ... try to collapse to continue on the way
    to a solve.
    just an idea that jumped up just now ...
    which came from seeing distance joints fail.
    why not use such a thing to our advantage?-----------------

    I think this was already suggested, a timer for pinks and bombs. And an option to make it so that after a determinated time you destroy a pink another one is destroyed... it would be perfect to make guns: A gun fires a bomb, and 3 seconds later the bomb explodes... or something like...-----------------

    i also want to be able to set one end or the other of a distance joint to not be able to turn-----------------

    not all of the lengths are the same and it skips the 7th opening

    Hmm... yes, that would help to make designs more accurattely. But for now, you can clone a distance joint to get another one with the same lenght :).-----------------

    Currently, I don't have a good graphics representation idea for sliders. If I get one, I will open the visible option.

    others may have different reasons for doing this ...
    for me ...
    it is all about perfecting a physics engine that
    will simulate the real world as closely as possible.
    only then ... will it be a valuable tool for me to
    use in experimenting ...
    as an aid in learning about and understanding
    real forces ...
    and that all helps me in my real work here in
    the world, in my real job.

    here's another version ...
    getting 3x the length just as it is done in the
    physical world.

    they can all be the same width ...
    as they are in the same collision cat.
    i only made them look larger for the purpose of illustration.
    this was supposed to be for Tapir anyway ...
    just an idea for how he might implement showing them
    if he wants to make them visible.
    they don't have to have any width other than that of
    distance joints ... as they aren't real objects and don't
    interact with other objects in that sense ...
    they are just the underlying connections.-----------------

    not sure it's possible in the Box2D engine ...
    but what i would love to see is a way to 'subtract' objects.

    iow, if we think of 'gluing' objects together as 'addition' or 'merging' ...
    then one could 'subtract' a smaller diameter circle from a larger one ...
    and end up with a 'ring' ...
    or a hollow circle, if you will.
    this would open up many shapes.
    they would likely have to end up being polygons ...
    but their construction would be much less intensive ...
    more user friendly to do.-----------------

    Yeah, me too. I thought on something similar, the "ghost" block, which you can click repeatedly to make it appear and disappear, unless there is a collidable object over it when you want it to appear. I think Tapir putted it on the to-do list...-----------------
