    it should actually be:
    n^x = (n-1)^x + xn[(n-1)^(x-2)] + (2x-5)

    that works

also, xyuzhg and vanderwaal cannot answer becuase reasons in chat thingy.

Ah! I see! The formula is only valid for certain values of n and x.-----------------

^ huh? all equations are only valid for their range of valid variables....

if anything it sorta looks like a systems feedback equation or something... couldn't tell ya specifically what tho...

your guys keep saying what the formula IS, not it's PURPOSE, which is what im looking for.-----------------

  4.
    n^x = (n-1)^x + xn[(n-1)^(x-2)] + (2x-5)
    Change to
    n^3 = (n-1)^3 + 3n(n-1) + 1

Then it is a reduction formula?
    Like this: 11^3 = 10^3 + 33(10) + 1. You can multiply the 33*10 easily and compute 10^3 with the formula again.
So, its purpose is a reduction formula.-----------------

    So... n^2 = (n-1)^2 + 2n - 1...

You're not supposed to reveal the answer right away. You're supposed to let us guess, then reveal it after a while if no one guesses right.

    Here's mine:
Sixty-eight, ninety-five, ninety nine point seven,
The confidence of this times one, two, three.
If you see it bigger than in lowercase then,
you can also use it as a sum for free.

The last part wasn't as good but I tried to make it rhyme.

    Ok, new riddle:
    Everyone in me is dead,
but all the things I have are red.
    I often feel empty inside,

Ok I think I'm officially going to give up on rhyming riddles, as they never turn out good.

    Everyone in me is dead,

It's Puzzle Geek's Youtube channel! All of his videos are never watched and are therefore dead!

It's funny because the (mathematical) empty set is an entirely plausible (but probably not intended) answer.

Everyone in me is dead: Nothing exists in the empty set, so therefore everything inside has any property. This is the vacuous truth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuous...
but all the things I have are red: Vacuous truth.
I often feel empty inside: The empty set is empty.
as a set you can\'t divide: You cannot partition an empty set, as it has no elements.-----------------
    Hopefully PA is inconsistent.
