In this test of wits, you will have to create a device to cushion the "egg" down to the bin at the end. Watch out for obstacles, bumpers, and more.

Yes, I have done this once before ( http://forum.colorinfection.com/comm... ) and it didn't work out. It was too easy to win.
• Vanderwaal: You could also add some obstacles to the screen. Like adding hills to the floor or some bumpers somewhere during the drop.
Done.
• BioManiac R2: I made a version of Xyuzhg\'s solution and got it to work for this "harder" challenge as well :/
That solution will not work even for level 1.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Competition Rules
In case you're wondering, you only really have to follow rules 10, 18, and 20 (heh).

(1) You may not use triggers. (Obvious exceptions: pause, speed, colors, zoom+camera, etc)
(2) There is no rule #2.
(3) There must be no user input. (Obvious exceptions: as in rule #1)
(4) You are not allowed to follow rule #12.
(5) No static shapes, shapes with zero density, shapes glued to other pre-made objects, shapes jointed to the background, etc.
(6) You are not allowed to follow rule #4.
(7) Density: [0.1, 60]. Friction: [0, e). Restitution: (0, 1). Starting linear velocity magnitude: [0, 20); angular velocity: (-900, 900).
(8) You are not allowed to.... um, I forgot this one.
(9) Joints: Only DISTANCE joints with a break length of 0.1, and springs with the three preset strengths (weak/normal/strong), are allowed!
(10) Think before you act.
(11) You can only attach joints to your own shapes, not pre-made objects or the background.
(12) You are not allowed to follow rule #6.
(13) You must build entirely above the red line and in bounds.
(14) You have to put the number "42" in your entry.
(15) You can\\'t edit pre-made objects. Exceptions: You can move the EGG HERE text as long as it\\'s in bounds. You can delete the build area sign if it\\'s in your way.
(16) You must whisper your design to Mathdude314.
(17) Move the "EGG HERE" text if you need to change the starting position. It still must be inside the box.
(18) Your design must be creative and original.
(19) More banned stuff: no gravity controllers, module shapes (heh), having objects inside the egg, and power sources.
(20) You must follow all odd-numbered rules.
(21) Fail = egg breaks. Pass = egg survives for 5-10 seconds in the finish zone. Pass++ = egg survives for 10+ seconds in the finish zone.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

CURRENT CHALLENGE
Without further ado, I present the challenge!

IMPORTANT: For this level, I present a new rule:
• you may use at most 6 springs

IMPORTANT: For this level, I present TWO rules:
• You may use at most 6 springs.
• You may use at most 1 hinge, which must be motor-less and limitless, and attached to your own shapes.
• Gravity has Increased!

All additional rules are in the level. Remember, the hinge limit is 1, which must be motorless and limitless.

[spoiler2=Level 5]
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

I will be releasing a new level every 7-14 days unless stated otherwise. There will be a longer distance, more and more dangerous obstacles, and possibly a longer time.-----------------
If less people are active, that will only make for even less activity. Start making those designs!

As usual, I present a one-object solution (Pass++). It's in the same spirit as my solution to the original challenge, but did require much more tweaking.
(As a bonus I let the egg shake around a bit before solving.)

COMPETITION 2 is OUT one day early

In the next level, there are more obstacles and a longer distance. Be careful at the end!
IMPORTANT RULE: You may have at most 5 springs in your design.

See Initial Post

I fear I have made it a bit too hard.-----------------

One object solution, Pass++.
I call it 'threading the needle'. It's legal as the block has initial linear speed 18 < 20.

I released version 3!

Version 3 Notices
• The color of bumpers indicates restitution: Dark yellow = 0.5, Blue = 1, Red = 1.5
• I mixed up the pattern to prevent people from "sledding" and having springs to stop the egg.
• Gravity is stronger!!

Level 3 Rules
• Spring Limit: 6, as before.
• You are allowed to use one hinge joint, but only ONE, and it cannot be powered or have a limit, and it must attach to your own shapes (not the background or the egg).

Perhaps for level 4, I should make it awesomely evil and... BAN FIXING ROTATION!!!
In fact, I already have the plans: zero wall friction, disallow rotation-fixing, and set the spring limit to... 8, to be nice. See? I'm not completely evil.-----------------

Okay, it's time.
• Decreased the spring constants on the egg from 240 to 220
• Turned off friction for ONE of the walls
• You can use fixed rotation for circles. But not anything else.
• I increased the spring limit. If you have a lot of springs please make them invisible, thanks

not really much room for creativity on this one Mathdude... it's basically requiring a bouncy cushion to put it on, still solvable with the same concept Xyuzhg always uses, and I was unable to think of another way to solve it really... but it is easier to solve with a block taller than the area is wide (this is a fake implementation of fixed rotation)

Edited to look prettier, still not as pretty as Xyuzhg's debatably though.
